Southern Californian, “Pop Surreal” artist, Jason Maloney attended California State University , Fullerton where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing in 2000. Through out his childhood, Jason was obsessively fascinated by 80's skateboard graphics, classic slasher horror movies and heavy metal music. His paintings and drawings reflect the coupling of his razor sharp wit, caustic personality and humor along with his formal training, signature cut outs and expansive color fields. He is currently taking his fine art/illustrations to the surf/skateboard industry. Companies such as Nike, Hurley, Quiksilver and Grind King all will soon feature Jason’s artwork on everything from board shorts and t shirts to a variety of skateboard products and public murals. Jason currently draws and paints in Newport Beach, California.
